Africa’s oil and gas sector remains a key focus of global interest, with natural gas emerging as a primary target for investment. Many countries hold substantial reserves, and governments are actively driving large-scale gas projects across the continent.
In a recent project for a leading German manufacturer of industrial components used in the gas sector, we mapped the industry and prioritised countries in Africa. We leveraged insights from the ABiQ platform, which monitors over $7 trillion worth of projects across Africa and the Middle East. Based on data from ABiQ (which tracks projects valued above $20 million), we found that Egypt is leading with 25 gas projects (current and upcoming), followed closely by Nigeria with 24, and Algeria with 14. These numbers reflect infrastructure development and investment in these markets.
By charting the projects and providing more data, we helped our client refine their market approach and sales strategy.
