Kenya‘s plastic bottling industry is growing significantly. Consumption volumes are also increasing, driven by rising urbanization and a growing middle class.
One of our clients, a key player in the plastics industry, tasked us with providing an overview of the plastic bottling landscape in Kenya. The firm, a large plastics converter, had questions about the market dynamics, market size, consumption habits and players.
africon answered this through industry knowledge from our sector experts on the ground, a comprehensive analysis of trade statistics, interviews and desktop research. We interviewed plastic converters, bottlers, experts, relevant institutions, associations and key stakeholders.
Our research findings on bottled water consumption showed that the 500ml and 1L Stock Keeping Units (SKUs) are the most sold in Kenya, as they are focused on individual consumers. The 300ml SKU is more common in businesses such as airlines and hotels, and everyday users hardly buy these. The 18.9L SKUs are used by household consumers who use water dispensers.
Upon sharing our findings, we provided our client with a detailed understanding of the market. Based on our comprehensive analysis, we then crafted strategic recommendations to help them make informed decisions about their future sales efforts in Kenya.
At africon, we provide comprehensive market analysis and strategic recommendations to help our clients succeed in the African market. If you have any questions or need further information, contact us at info@africon.de.
